Basically Tiger Barb can be breeded same way as Rosy Barb, some differences: Tiger Barb is more agressive, so we don't need to feed them with so many plant based food. Only problem is to get so called "Green tiger barb", hybrid form of Tiger barb. If you want to do so, use only green tiger form parents, and still at least half of young population barbs will be the "classic" form. Remember that green form grow slower, so you need to sort them - at least 2 tanks are needed. Tiger barbs are 2,5 cm long after one month, so they grow really fast.

How to differ male from female? Males are usually smaller and with brighter colours, while females have round bellys. When we separate them before spawn, females will be even more round than usual.

One thing should be mentioned - nitrates. Tiger barbs are very sensitive to them, high level of nitrates will lead to very fast poisoning. Early symptoms are apathy, "hanging" head down, hiding between plants, lack of colours.
